GOD SPOKE AND CREATED

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God.” — Hebrews 11:3

God Spoke, and It Was

Many people have asked the question, “Which came first, the apple tree or the seed?” It is similar to the well-known question, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”

For those who believe the Bible, God has already given the answer.

In Genesis we read:

“And God said, Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so.” — Genesis 1:11 (AMPC)

And again:

“And God said, Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds…” — Genesis 1:24 (AMPC)

God first created mature plants, trees, animals, and living creatures, each with the ability to reproduce according to its kind.

The apple tree was created with seed already within it.

The chicken was created with the ability to lay eggs.

God did not need millions of years of trial and error. He simply spoke, and creation came into existence exactly as He intended.

What an incredible God we serve!

God’s Word Is Our Handbook for Life

God has given us His living Word so that we can find everything we need for life and godliness.

The Bible is our handbook, our guide, our instruction manual, and our protection.

It was not written to condemn us but to lead us into life.

The promises of God are available to all who read His Word, believe it, and apply it to their lives.

His Word should be engraved upon our hearts.

God’s Word is unchanging and applicable to every situation we will ever face.

And just as His Word never changes, God Himself never changes.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8

There is no end to His love.

No end to His peace.

No end to His healing.

No end to His promises.

No end to His blessings.No end to His provision.

The Miracle Hidden Inside a Seed

Have you ever stopped to think about how a tree grows from a tiny seed?

The process of germination is nothing short of astonishing.

Inside that tiny seed is everything needed to begin new life.

Only an infinitely wise Creator could design a world where plants, animals, and human beings continue to reproduce and sustain life generation after generation.

Creation reveals the genius of God.

But the seed also teaches us a spiritual lesson.

Just as a seed grows when it receives water, sunlight, and nourishment, the Word of God grows within us when we read it, meditate on it, and pray.

Something begins to happen inside us.

We change.

We grow.

We become hungry for more of God.

We develop a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father, with Jesus Christ His Son, and with the Holy Spirit.

As we absorb His Word, we become more like Him.

Lessons From a Tree

A tree has seasons built into its life.

In winter it appears dormant.

In spring it begins to bud.

In summer it flourishes.

In autumn its leaves fall.

Yet year after year it comes alive again.

Fresh.

Green.

Renewed.

The tree does not cling to the past season.

Neither does it fear the season to come.

It simply lives the season God has given it.

Perhaps there is a lesson for us in that.

How often do we hold on to yesterday’s hurts?

How often do we fear tomorrow’s challenges?

God calls us to trust Him one day at a time.

One season at a time.

And just as we admire God’s creation in every season, we should learn to love our neighbors in every season of their lives as well.

Sowing Seeds for Eternity

There is only one thing we can take to Heaven.

Not possessions.

Not money.

Not achievements.

Only souls.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have the privilege of sharing the Gospel and planting seeds of hope.

Jesus taught that some seeds fall on hard ground.

Some are eaten by birds.

Some never take root.

But others fall into good soil and produce an abundant harvest.

The same is true today.

When people hear the Word of God, it begins to work within them.

The Son of God becomes their light.

His Word becomes living water.

His presence strengthens them.

And they begin to grow.

A single seed can become a tree that produces hundreds, even thousands, of new seeds.

Likewise, one life transformed by Christ can influence countless others.

The harvest is far greater than the seed that was first planted.

He Spoke and Everything Came to Be

When we truly understand creation, we see that everything points back to God.

He is the reason life exists.

He is the source of growth.

He is the One who sustains all things.

We no longer need to live imprisoned by our past.

Nor do we need to fear our future.

He holds both in His hands.

The same God who spoke light into existence is still speaking life today.

He spoke, and everything was.

He speaks, and hearts are transformed.

He spoke, and creation began.

And because He is eternal, His purposes will continue forever.

A Final Thought

Every time you look at another person, remember that they were created by God.

Do not judge them by their appearance, their size, their skin color, their intelligence, their background, or their circumstances.

Instead, see them as someone for whom Christ died.

We may hate sin, but we are called to love people.

Every person you meet is a soul of eternal value.

And perhaps the seed you plant today will become a mighty tree in the Kingdom of God tomorrow.
