The NOS's game of lines: how a conspiracy theory becomes "education"

As a reader of GOD News, you can count on the highest journalistic standards. All the facts we cite are actually checked by our editorial team, and as editor-in-chief, I personally oversee this every day.

You would think a state broadcaster would do the same, and with an annual stream of subsidy and advertising revenue of €130 million, 900 employees and top salaries of €262,000, this should be enough for them to deliver good journalism. Naturally, our editorial team follows all reporting on the Middle East, and we were treated to a NOSop3 piece that was, to say the least, highly peculiar ("Israel's game of lines") and fully deserves to be called dangerous state propaganda.

It is supposed to be 'education' for teenagers, but meanwhile they are proclaiming a blatantly antisemitic conspiracy theory as if it were this government's current policy.

The NOS claims that the so-called Jewish "Greater Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates" borders constitute the secret political agenda. In doing so, they use a 'Greater Israel' map, which the NOS has misused as a direct source. This map and its variants emerged online in the 1990s through Islamists and antisemites. The original versions came from Egypt in the 1950s, through Omar Amin / Johann von Leers, a Waffen-SS Sturmbannführer and Goebbels propagandist.

The Herzl lie

The NOS claims that this expansion plan was "an ideal of Theodor Herzl", based on a "Biblical promise". This is blatant historical falsification. Herzl was a thoroughly secular, assimilated, independent journalist, precisely not a religious fundamentalist. He did not base his vision on theology at all. He was not even originally "Viennese" (he only worked there), as is often claimed: he was born in Budapest, and his grandparents came from the Jewish diaspora in Serbia.

In his diary (1898, see my previous article), he merely recorded brainstorming ideas about establishing a Jewish state in their "indigenous Homeland".

The anti-Zionism embraced by the NOS has its roots in the fake "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", fabricated in 1903 by the Russian secret police. In Mein Kampf (1925), Adolf Hitler then used this exact fraudulent blueprint to claim that Jews sought "mastery over an enslaved humanity".

Imagine raising your children on this nonsense.
